This Is Why I Love Photography

A great portrait has far less to do with imaging equipment. To me, the most important thing is the human connection. It comes ahead of the lighting decisions, the composition, the camera and lens choices. This session was one of my favourites, ever.

We talked, we laughed, we shared stories and perspective. Then, we took some pictures and some great things happened.

Looking back at the images I’ve captured that I love bring me to the moments between the opening and closing of the shutter.

What really matters is the experience, and the time well spent. I won’t remember how many likes or comments any particular image got, but I will recall the feeling of gratitude one feels when the person in front of the camera is happy with the results.

This is why I love photography and creating.

I do it for the access, and the opportunities it grants.
